Online Programs for Adult Learners

B.A./B.S. in Liberal Studies

A key difference between the 100% online version of our adult program and the seated one is the flexibility of time. In our 100% online path, students complete their work from the comfort of their own home, with no set login times.

Upon successful completion of the Liberal Studies degree program, students will be able to:

•   Utilize writing skills developed through written assignments in a variety of disciplines as well as in work and life situations.

•  Think critically and creatively about problem solving.

•  Apply the body of knowledge learned in a selected area of concentration to work environments and life situations.

The online Liberal Studies Core Curriculum consists of 60 credits, with the following 6-credit courses required:

LSLIT 110* Literature and the Adult Experience**

LSENG 190* Research Techniques

LSMAT 200 Contemporary Mathematics**

LSSCI 200 Science and Society**

LSTHE 200 Ideals in Conflict **

LSTHE 201 Comparative Religion**

LSHST 201 History and Social Science**

LSHUM 200 Human Potential and the Arts**

LSHUM 201-210 Foreign Language and Culture **

LSINT 490 Themes in Interdisciplinary Study

We aim to help you graduate more quickly by making the most of your prior credits. Students can complete a self-designed elective curriculum consisting of 60 credits, for a total of 120 credits required to complete the degree.

*In preparation for the writing and research requirements of all 6-credit seminars, LSENG 190 and LSLIT 110, or their equivalent, must be taken prior to any other 6-credit seminar.

**Transfer credit in related disciplines and documented prior learning may be evaluated to satisfy either specific course and/or self-designed elective curriculum requirements.
