Seven members of the University community attended the Pro-Life March in Washington, D.C., on January 22. The  trip was co-sponsored by Campus Ministry and Knights for Life, the pro-life club on campus.

The group traveled with parishioners from Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Morton, PA.  Melissa Hickey, director of Campus Ministry and advisor for Knights for Life, was the chaperone for the event.  She recalls that “On the way to the march we prayed together on the bus for the various issues affecting human life: abortion, torture, the death penalty and also the lack of respect often shown towards the disabled and elderly.”

The march route covered  1.5 miles toward the capitol building and around the front of the Supreme Court Building.  “We were surrounded by thousands of other people from all over the country,” says Hickey.  “Many youth groups and colleges like ours were also in attendance.  We proudly carried our Neumann University banner.”
