Tierney Appointed to Serve on Board of Trustees

Michael J. Tierney, Esq., Berwyn, PA, was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees at Neumann University. Tierney will serve on the Strategic Institutional Planning and Trustee committees of the Board of Trustees.

 

Tierney is a partner in the Corporate Department at Dilworth Paxson LLP, a Philadelphia-based law firm. He works on a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters and represents companies and individuals in forming new businesses, acquiring or selling businesses, forming and advising private equity funds, structuring corporate governance arrangements, performing due diligence review and analysis in connection with proposed acquisitions and investments, and drafting and negotiating business agreements. Among many other engagements, he was lead counsel representing the group of local investors who purchased The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and philly.com from The McClatchy Company for $562 million.  


Tierney is on the boards of Mission Kids and The Philadelphia Charity Ball, and is a member of the Easttown Township Zoning Hearing Board. He also serves as vice chairman of the Cardinal’s Cabinet for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and a member of the Advancement Committee at Rosemont School of the Holy Child.


Tierney has been actively involved in local, state and national political campaigns and is currently co-chairman of the finance committee for the reelection of Risa Vetri Ferman, Montgomery County, PA, District Attorney. He received his law degree from Widener University School of Law, where he was an editor of the law review, and his B.A. in chemistry from Denison University. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
