Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

The Neumann University players bring the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to the stage opening on Thursday, March 13, at 8 p.m.

Based on the popular 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers around two con men living on the French Riviera.  Lawrence James makes his lavish living by talking ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health. After meeting on a train, Freddy asks Lawrence to show him the ways of the upper echelon. Soon after Lawrence realizes there is not enough room in the Riviera for the both of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress Christine Colgate, wins. The loser must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues sure to keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing until the last con stands.

Performances run Thursday through Saturday, March 13 - 15, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 16, at 2 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre in the campus Life Center. Directed by Lewis Edward with music direction by Richard Sayers, Ph.D.  Admission is $10.  Seniors and students with ID $5. For more information call 610-361-5455 or visit www.neumann.edu/players.
