International Business Faculty Visit Neumann

Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs
Dr. Rosalie Mirenda, Dean Lawrence Burgee, and four members of the NU business faculty greeted 13 visiting international faculty members on June 15 in the
Rocco Abessinio Building.

Thirteen international faculty members with expertise in business visited Neumann University on June 15 as part of the annual conference of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The conference is scheduled for June 12-15 in Philadelphia.

According to Ardeshir Shahmaei, a professor in Neumann’s Division of Business and Information Management, part of the ACBSP conference program for its international members is the “Philly School Tour” which invites attendees to visit selected campuses, meet campus representatives, and learn about how they deliver business education to students.

The faculty members who visited Neumann represent universities in the U.S. and five other countries: Canada, Colombia, India, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia.

The ACBSP is a specialized accreditation association for business education with 1,260 member campuses. It accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels worldwide. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in 2001 and again in 2011, ACBSP was the first organization to offer specialized business accreditation at all degree levels.

The Philadelphia conference included tracks on the Accreditation Process, Partnering with Business for Student Success, Best of the Regions, and Teaching Excellence.

Neumann University offers undergraduate majors in accounting, business administration, computer and information management, international business, marketing, and sport and entertainment management.
