College to Career: The Next Level

College to Career

Sport and Entertainment Career Day

Many students are afraid of what faces them at the “next level” after college. NUSEM 460 Associates, at Neumann University, will deliver “College to Career: The Next Level” Career Day on April 24, 2015.

Students with an interest in working in the sport & entertainment industries will be able to network with organizations as well as learn from professionals how to best pursue their dream job. NUSEM460-A has been hard at work in preparation of this flagship event.

From 10am – 12pm tables will be set up in the Mirenda Center Atrium allowing students to interact with representatives from numerous sport and entertainment organizations and to discuss jobs and/or internship opportunities. From 1pm – 3pm, there will be a moderated Q&A panel with select guests discussing how they made it to where they are as well as how students can best prepare for the job market.

Currently confirmed for the Q&A panel are:

Marc Farzetta - host/anchor on 94WIP and an associate producer for NBC Sports; Mechelle Lavelle - sport/entertainment photographer who has done work with professional teams here in Philadelphia as well as working the Jordan brand;
Mark Cunningham - Ticket Sales Manager at the Wilmington Blue Rocks and minor league affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

Companies already confirmed for the morning career fair segment include:

The Philadelphia Union
Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation
Father Judge High School Athletics
Neumann University Athletics/Sports Information
Wilmington Blue Rocks

Additional panel speakers and companies will be added in the coming weeks.
