Good News


Nikolria Grant, a junior Biology major, was selected to pursue undergraduate research as part of the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine's Short-Term Educational Experiences for Research (STEER) Program, May 31-August 5.


Matt Janicki, an Education major, is one of 11 students in the country to receive the Delta Epsilon Sigma scholarships for 2016-17. Delta Epsilon Sigma is the National Catholic Honor Society.

Patrick McCann, a Political Science major, has been accepted as an intern for the fall 2016 semester in Harrisburg through NU's partnership with Temple's Capital Semester Program.

Chantel Briggs, also a Political Science major, will attend Penn State Dickinson Law School this fall.

A delegation traveled to Harrisburg in April for Student Aid Advocacy Day. Maureen Breslin, Maryam Ahmadi, Lucretia Farmah and Dr. Robert McMonagle attended the Harrisburg session at which students met with State Representatives Tom Killion, Steve Barrar, and Thaddeus Kirkland to make the case for full funding for PHEAA Grants.


All three of Neumann’s applicants have been selected for the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis: Kelly Fox and Julia Fair of the women’s ice hockey team and Matt O'Keefe of men’s basketball. The annual event brings together 200 selected student-athletes to learn and explore potential careers in sports, with the primary focus on intercollegiate athletics.

Madison Beck has led the effort to raise money for the Riley Endowed Scholarship through the Color Walk and the Drive to Give. The 2016 events raised more than $10,500 with the five-year total reaching $42,000.

In an email to Dr. Rosalie Mirenda, Brandon Rovito wrote, “After a year and half long process to begin my dream, I am pleased to announce the exciting news of my formal acceptance into the Philadelphia Police Academy. I am due to appear for my first day on Monday, May 9th.”
