Weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 452 (Pennell Road) between Parkmount Road and Glendale Boulevard in Middletown/Aston Township, Delaware County, beginning Wednesday, June 1, for bridge construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.

The weekday lane restrictions will be in effect Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through the end of June. The contractor will work Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM if there are weather delays. Traffic will be controlled by flagging.

The work is part of a $6.6 million improvement project by Delaware County to construct a multi-use pedestrian trail with roadway crossings along the Chester Creek Pedestrian Trail in Aston and Middletown townships. The project is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2016.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
