Post-Master's Certificate of Advanced Study as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner

 

NOTE: For the Post-Masters Certificate of Advanced study, five semesters of part-time, evening enrollment are required.

 

The Post-Master's Certificate of Advanced Study as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner is designed to build upon advanced nursing knowledge and integrate the knowledge and skills which are germane to the gerontological nurse practitioner. The course of study for the post- master's student, with 31 credits of GNP specialty and core courses, has the same terminal objectives previously listed for the Master of Science degree. A student who has taken a pathophysiology or pharmacology course in the past five years may challenge NUR 607, Advanced Pharmacology and/or NUR 611, Advanced Pathophysiology, by demonstrating adequate knowledge of the content through testing.
