AcademicsPost-Professional DPT Program: Admission Requirements
Applicants to the post-professional program must be graduate physical therapists with proof of professional licensure to practice physical therapy in the U.S. Applications must be supported by a current CV that reflects the scope and breadth of professional activities and achievements. All transcripts of previous college work must be submitted. A letter of intent that states the purpose for entering the DPT program along with educational goals must also be submitted.
Completion of the Post-Professional DPT Track requires a minimum of twelve
credits, including a required eight (8) credits of core courses. These
core courses are:
Of these core courses, PT 520, PT 640, and PT 741, are offered in an on-line format. PT 512 is offered on campus in the Programs weekend format. The remaining four (4) credits are also offered on campus in the Programs weekend format and can be selected from either elective courses in the Physical Therapy Program curriculum or from selected courses in other Neumann College graduate programs, i.e., Education, Nursing, Pastoral Care and Counseling, Sport Management, or Strategic Leadership. In addition, two specialized content area courses in the new entry-level DPT Program [PT 617, Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy II and PT 737, Neuromuscular Physical Therapy II] may also be taken as electives in spinal physical therapy and vestibular rehabilitation.
Each Post-Professional Track student has a Program advisor; and, together, they determine an appropriate curriculum plan that meets the professional needs and educational goals of each student. Depending on the preparation, qualifications, needs, and goals of the student, completion of the Post-Professional Track may require more total course credits than the twelve credit minimum.
Students are admitted to the Post-Professional DPT Track on a rolling basis and may begin their studies at the beginning of any term. This Track must be completed within five calendar years from the date when studies begin. Applicants must:
