For Jennifer Hannibal, the college selection process was a snap. Her
sister, a senior in Neumann College's nursing program, raves about
the College and how she is enjoying it so much. Jennifer definitely
wanted to have the same experience and chose Neumann. "It's also
so close to my Philadelphia home, which is important to me."
During the summer before entering Neumann, Jennifer attended the
school's summer program. Her wonderful experience in the program
sealed her decision. "They gave me so much help in improving
my writing and English skills, and spent a lot of time showing us
around. I like all the resources Neumann offers students. If you
need help, it's there for you." Planning to live on campus,
she also "fell in love" with the College's dorm rooms.
"I like that the bathrooms are inside our rooms and not down
the hall somewhere. This is such a clean school, and I like that
aspect."
Jennifer enjoyed the three years she spent working at a day care
so much, that when it came time to choose her major, she just
"knew" it had to be elementary education. She wants
to teach first to third grade after graduation, and plans eventually
to pursue a career as a school counselor. "I'm learning so
many different ways of teaching. Things are so different from
when I went to school. The world of education is changing so frequently
and fast." She is particularly enjoying her Educational Psychology
course, which she says is "engaging and fun," and Professor
Marisa Rauscher's classes. "I love how she teaches."
A self-proclaimed mediocre student in high school, Jennifer credits
Neumann with helping her discover her potential. "I am so
excited that I am able to get a 3.8 GPA. I'm doing so well with
my classes." She is very grateful to the faculty and the
staff for all the help and support they provide. "Neumann's
a great school for any student who feels they need a little extra
help, or that college may not be for them because they haven't
done their best in high school.
Neumann gives you the support
you need to achieve. You definitely get the resources you need
here. All you have to do is ask."
