Regina Moran arrived at Neumann College on a whim and saw a side of the college that she never expected to find. It was an image of happiness and a peaceful feeling that she experienced as a high school student at one of the college’s open houses. She was sold on Neumann from the first moment she stepped foot on the campus.
“I had already decided I was going to Millersville. From the moment I stepped foot I felt very comfortable. I could see myself being very happy here,” says Regina.
As a political science major with minors in secondary education and history, Regina maintains a high GPA and has devoted her extra time to various campus ministry programs. After 12 years of Catholic education, Regina realized she was not ready to lose that part of her learning.
“My faith is a very big part of me. That’s what really attracted me, the college ministry. I realized I could enjoy this. I wasn’t sure how to combine the academics and my faith. Once I realized I could do that, I realized this is the place I want to be,” she says.
Regina chose her major because she always has had an interest in politics. She remembers being five years old and asking her mother to turn on CNN so she could follow a presidential election. After graduation she hopes to teach high school American History and she credits her Neumann professors with providing the guidance for her career path.
“The teachers have encouraged me since I got here. They have helped me definitely grow and become better with debating and critical thinking. I just like being here. It’s like a family here, and I feel proud to be a part of such a great community.”
