Workshop I Theatre Camp for Little People
Dates: June 30 to July 18 2008(no class July 4th )
This workshop is open to approximately twenty-five students entering kindergarten through third grades. It is designed to introduce young people to theatre. Students will experience every aspect of play-acting from mind pictures to performing. All activities will offer a variety of challenges to accommodate the range of abilities among the students. A showcase performance will be performed on July 18.
Workshop II Introduction to Theater
Dates: June 30 to July 18, 2008 (no class July 4th)
The workshop is designed for fourth and fifth grade students who would like to introduce themselves to the stage. The participants will work on various acting skills by using improvisations, stage games, stage crafts and a short play script to produce a twenty-minute production. The showcase will be performed for parents and friends on July 18.
Workshop III Showcase Workshop
Date: June 30 to July 26, 2008 (no class July 4th)
This workshop is open to approximately forty students entering sixth through ninth
Workshop IV High School Ensemble ~ Children’s Theatre Workshop
Dates: July 7 to August 2, 2008
This workshop is open to approximately twenty students entering ninth grade through young adult This class will encourage cooperative learning while concentrating on storytelling and performing. The students will produce a children’s participatory production. Production dates are July 31, August 1,2, 2008. Tickets are available through the Office of Cultural Programming in the Life Center. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All workshops and productions will be directed by a variety of skilled staff persons- instructing drama techniques, vocal training, choreographic movement and artistic design. All programs will be
supervised by qualified staff persons with additional support staff to ensure the safety of all participants.
Students are expected to eat lunch on campus. Lunch is included in the cost of the theater camp. A full all-you-can-eat lunch offering a variety of camp foods will be served each day. Catering is provided by the Sodexho Company. Cafeteria facilities are in the Life Center Building. Students will be supervised by workshop staff assistants. A short “recess” period will follow each 30 minute lunch break.
C.S.P. reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to inadequate enrollment. All fees will be refunded in the event such a cancellation occurs.
