PAC Names Commissioner
The Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
(PAC) has appointed Amy J. Frankenstein as its commissioner. Frankenstein has
extensive experience in college sports and has served in a variety of roles including
those of coach, faculty member, athletic director, and assistant and associate
commissioner.
From 1998 to 2003, Frankenstein served first as assistant
director of championships for the National Collegiate Athletic Association in
Indianapolis, IN, and then as executive director of the United States Field Hockey
Association in Colorado Springs, CO. In these positions, she supervised professional
and volunteer personnel, and directed event management, fundraising and marketing
efforts.
Most recently, she worked for the National Football Foundation
as the Academic Coach for football teams at two Indianapolis inner-city high schools.
Her responsibilities were to review and improve the academic records of 120 students
by creating tutoring, life skills training and team building programs, and by
involving the students in community service.
Frankenstein has been associate
commissioner of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference and assistant commissioner
of the Eastern College Athletic Conference. She holds a bachelor of science and
a master's degree in Physical Education from Springfield College in Springfield,
MA. She will assume the duties of PAC commissioner on July 15, 2005, based at
Neumann College in Aston, PA.
Founded in 1992, the PAC is an organization
of 12 private colleges with teams that compete in Division III of the NCAA. The
conference hosts championship competitions in 15 sports.

Radnor, PA, Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA, College Misericordia, Dallas,
PA, Eastern University, Radnor, PA, Gwynedd-Mercy College, Gwynedd, PA, Immaculata
University, Immaculata, PA, Marywood University, Scranton, PA, Neumann College,
Aston, PA, Rosemont College, Rosemont, PA, and Wesley College, Dover, DE.
