Neumann Seeks Nominations for
Graduate Studies Scholarship
Neumann
College is seeking nominations for The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship
Program, which will award approximately 65 scholarships to college seniors and
recent graduates who will attend graduate school full-time beginning fall 2006.
The
Foundation expects to receive more than 1,400 applications for its 2006 awards.
Every accredited undergraduate college and university in the US may nominate up
to two students.
Each scholarship covers a portion of educational expenses,
including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the chosen graduate
degree. The amount and duration of awards vary by student based on the cost of
attendance and the length of the graduate program, as well as other scholarships
or grants received. The maximum available per student per year of study is $50,000,
and the maximum length is six years.
Students at accredited US colleges
or universities with senior status by December 31, 2005, or recent graduates (since
May 2001) are eligible for the awards. They must also be accepted into their first
graduate or professional degree program and scheduled to begin study in fall 2006,
or be accepted into such a program no later than May 1, 2006. A cumulative undergraduate
grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent is also
required.
Interested students must be nominated by their undergraduate
university or college. The Foundation does not accept applications directly from
students. The Neumann application deadline is March 1, 2006, with final nominations
submitted to the foundation by May 1, 2006.
Applicants should contact Dr.
Ardeshir Shahmaei, dean of the Division of Business and Information Management,
via e-mail at ashahmae@neumann.edu or by phone at (610) 558-5590. Completed applications may be mailed to Dr. Shahmaei
at Neumann College, One Neumann Drive, Aston, PA 19014. Application materials
and complete eligibility requirements can be downloaded from the links listed
below.
