Leonardo
Defilippis, director and star of the recently released motion picture, Therese,
brought his one-man production, Saint Francis: Troubadour of God's Peace,
to the Meagher Theatre on October 27. He performed the one-hour show at 2 p.m.
and 7:30 p.m. to an audience that totaled more than 400 people.
Saint
Francis is a dramatic portrayal of a popular Christian hero. The son of a
wealthy Italian merchant, St. Francis of Assisi spent his youth in frivolous extravagance.
Then he experienced a dramatic conversion and cheerfully gave up all his worldly
possessions to live a radical life of service and prayer.
Defilippis used
his extensive experience as an actor to bring St. Francis to life on stage. As
evidenced in the photos here, he captured the many faces of the man whose life
has inspired people for centuries.
