Welcome St. Patrick with Jigs and Reels
The McAleer School of Dance, founded in Ireland more than 50 years ago by Alice McAleer, will perform in the Meagher Theatre on Thursday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m.
Now under the direction of Alice's niece, Veronica, the McAleer School of Dance continues to perform from its current base in Delaware. McAleer students have danced with the Trinity Dance Troupe at the Grand Opera House, the Eileen Ivers Band, the Three Irish Tenors, and at venues in Ireland, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
The group has performed for novelist Frank McCourt, former president of Ireland Mary Robinson, and U. S. Senator Joseph Biden.
The program is sponsored by the Cultural Arts Forum, one of seven groups that comprise the Arts Guild at Neumann College. Other organizations are Center Stage Productions, the Delaware County Symphony, the Neumann College Concert Chorale, the Neumann College Jazz Band, the Neumann College Theater Ensemble, and Stages of Imagination Children's Theater.
General admission is $7. The lecture is free for Forum members. For more information and to reserve tickets, call 610-558-5626.
