College to Host Open House for High School Students

Neumann will host an Open House for high school students and their parents on Sunday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Open House will introduce prospective students to the 20 undergraduate majors at the College, and provide details about the 15 NCAA Division III athletic teams and seven performing arts groups on campus. High school students and their parents will have the opportunity to talk with financial aid professionals, meet Neumann faculty and current students, and tour the 63-acre campus.

U.S. News & World Report ranks Neumann as one of the 2007 “Best Values” among comprehensive colleges in the North, and The Princeton Review lists Neumann as one of the outstanding colleges and universities in the Northeast for 2007.

Neumann offers academic programs in arts and sciences, business and information management, education and human services, and nursing and health sciences. Popular majors include athletic training, criminal justice and sport management, as well as nursing and special education. For every field of study, the College arranges comprehensive career preparation programs such as internships and co-operative education placements.

According to Dennis Murphy, vice president for enrollment management at Neumann, “These career-oriented experiences allow students to test their job choices in a real-world setting and make solid professional connections that could lead to post-graduate employment offers.” Within six months of graduation, more than 95 percent of Neumann students are employed or in graduate school.

The undergraduate enrollment at Neumann is approximately 1,850. More than 750 students live on campus in three modern residence halls in which every room is wired for cable and internet access. Activities include a variety of clubs and organizations as well as many opportunities for volunteerism and community service.
