Strategies and Tools for Clergy and All Congregational Leaders

On June 20, the Neumann College Pastoral Counseling program, in collaboration with the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA) and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), will present the latest information, resources, and strategies for counseling people affected by addiction. Created for clergy, congregational leaders, and persons who have been asked for help with drug or alcohol concerns, the program takes place from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Attendees will discover how to educate and provide hope to individuals and families suffering from the impact of alcohol and substance abuse addiction.

The program is to be facilitated by Steve Hornberger, Faith Initiative Program Consultant from NACoA, and Doug Ronsheim, D.Min., the Executive Director of AAPC. The objectives of the program are to:

  • learn to raise awareness of how addiction to alcohol and other drugs affect individuals and their families

  • discuss the role of clergy and congregations in offering information, hope, and recovery support for those affected by alcohol and drug abuse

  • review core competencies for clergy and congregational leaders in understanding and addressing alcohol and drug abuse

The cost of the program is $70.00 and includes refreshments, lunch, and a resource binder. CEUs are available. Registration has been extended to Thursday, June 14th. For reservations, please contact Mary Ann Stewart by calling 610-558-5572, or simply click on the following link to print out, complete, and mail in the Registration Form.
