Center Stage Productions Presents West Side Story

Center Stage Productions will present West Side Story, the hit musical from the 1950's, on June 21-24 in the Meagher Theatre.

West Side Story opened on Broadway in 1957 and has since become a landmark in American musical theatre history. This musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet transplants young lovers to the violent streets of New York where they are doomed by social conditions they cannot control. The powerful, swiftly-moving plot is driven by turbulence and tension.

This theater masterpiece still remains relevant today as we struggle with bigotry, racism, gangs, and street violence. Love still struggles to survive despite our turbulent world. Beautifully dramatized with musical numbers that have become some of our favorites - One Hand, One Heart, I Feel Pretty, Officer Krupke, and Maria - this production entertains and provides thought-provoking social commentary.

Performances of West Side Story are scheduled for 8 p.m. on June 21-23 and for 3 p.m. on June 24. Tickets are $12 each, with a $8 admission price for students (of any age) and seniors. To reserve seats, call 610-558-5626.
