Franciscan Scholar to Lecture, Read on October 22


Father Murray Bodo, OFM, will deliver a lecture and read poetry during two appearances in the Meagher Theatre on Monday, October 22. A lecture on St. Francis is scheduled for 10 a.m. while the poetry reading and discussion is set for 3 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

 

A Franciscan priest, Father Murray is the author of numerous books, including the international best-seller, Francis, the Journey and the Dream. He is visiting professor of poetry and visiting scholar at the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University.

 

In addition, Father Murray serves as poetry editor of the Journal of the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities. He spends part of each year in Assisi, Italy, as a staff member for Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs. His latest work is A Sort of Bliss: Reading the Mystics, published by St. Anthony Messenger Press in 2007.
