Making Music and Raising Funds

Neumann College students and faculty members will combine their talents to raise funds toward the purchase of a new grand piano. This second annual fundraising concert will be held on Thursday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre located in the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center. The piano in the theater is central to virtually all of the arts at Neumann; it is used by the entire Arts Guild at Neumann College as well as voice students, piano students, faculty, and the Mission and Ministry Unit. With a good piano at its core, Neumann College will serve more effectively a community thirsty for cultural, spiritual, and musical programming. The Neumann students are the driving force behind this effort, and with faculty support, they have created this event to help raise the needed funds.

This dynamic concert will feature the musical works of classical and contemporary composers. Plans are also underway to include art and photography exhibits to further showcase the artistic talents of Neumann’s students. According to one of the participants, “It is our universal love of music that keeps us singing, playing piano, making posters, discussing ideas long after classes are done, and reaching out to one another to do all we can to keep the halls of Neumann College filled with music.”

General admission to the concert is $10, and donations are greatly appreciated. Checks may be made payable to Neumann College and sent to the address below:
