Five Free Seminars in Phoenixville
 

Neumann College is offering five free, one-hour seminars on practical, contemporary issues at its new location in Phoenixville. All programs will be held at Franklin Commons, 400 Franklin Avenue, between September 3 and October 8, and are open to the public at no charge.

 

The series launches on Wednesday, September 3, at 6 p.m. with Planning for Retirement in Today’s Volatile Economy, presented by Bill Francis, a vice president and portfolio manager for the Philadelphia office of PNC Wealth Management. Francis has 26 years of sound experience and an extensive background in research and analysis, customer service, and investment strategies.

 

Christopher Starr presents Tips for Small Business Success on Wednesday, September 10, at noon.  Starr is a venture capital professional with substantial experience in deal sourcing, negotiating, and supporting portfolio companies.  He currently is a venture consultant for Innovation Capital Advisors, based in Wilmington, Delaware. 

 

On Wednesday, September 17, at noon, Dr. Marisa Rauscher presents For Parents Only: Dealing with Behavior that Drives You Crazy. Rauscher is a developmental psychologist who taught high school in Philadelphia prior to joining the Neumann College faculty.  Her research investigates the lives of adolescents, specifically examining the interplay among egocentrism, relationships with parents, peers and teachers, and the school context.  She teaches educational psychology at Neumann.

 

Dr. Len DiPaul visits Phoenixville on Wednesday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. to present Making Your Life Better – For Free. DiPaul is the executive director of pastoral studies at Neumann College and an instructor in Neumann’s strategic leadership and graduate education programs. He has given workshops and lectures nationally for the past 20 years and enjoys creating conversation around that which seems hidden yet is in plain sight for those who are willing to see it.

 

The seminar series closes on Wednesday, October 8, at noon with Financing Your Child’s College Education, presented by Dennis Murphy, the vice president for enrollment and student affairs at Neumann College. Murphy has 30 years of experience in admissions and financial aid at public and private, four- year and two-year institutions.
 
Parking is free at Franklin Commons. Refreshments will be served at each seminar, starting 30 minutes before the program begins.
