A reception in honor of August and December graduates in anticipation
of May Commencement.
How many guests does each
graduate get to invite?
Each graduate is invited to bring two guests. Due to the nature and size of
the event, we respectfully ask that no exceptions be requested.
What is the dress code for the event?
The dress code for the evening is dressy/business casual.
Will I receive my degree that evening?
Each graduate will be called by name but no diplomas will be handed out at Collation.
Will my Latin honors be announced?
Latin honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude and cum laude) that are properly recorded with the Registrar will be announced at Collation.
Is this in place of the May Commencement activities?
Collation does not take the place of May Commencement; rather, it is a celebration in anticipation of the upcoming May graduation ceremony.

What is a "Collation" anyway?
The term “collation” is derived from Church history and refers to a gathering where a light meal is served.
