Residence Life Advisory Board Standing Committee of the Student Government Board By-Laws
Article 1. Purpose
The Residence Life Advisory Board (RLAB) is a standing committee of the Student Government Board. Each house of the Living and Learning Center Complex and Annex elects is a representative to the Residence Life Advisory Board. The board will represent resident students, advise residence life staff on policies and procedures governing the Living and Learning Center Complex and Annex and plan and implement co-curricular programs for the resident population.
Article 2. Qualifications Any resident student in good academic and disciplinary standing may run for a position on the board.
Article 3. Elections The Chairperson of the Residence Life Advisory Board will be elected in the spring semester during the Student Government Board elections. The board is made up of one representative per house, which is elected by the members of that house at the beginning of the fall semester. Resident Assistants will implement the election process for their house.

Article 5. Advisor The advisor shall be the Director of Residence Life or his/her designee.
Article 6. Vacancies If a house representative position becomes available on the board, it will be open to all students who reside in the house who meet the general criteria. If needed, resident assistant will hold an election to fill the vacant position.
Article 7. Meetings The RLAB meets weekly. If resident students have issues or concerns, they should inform their house representative, so that those issues and concerns can be discussed at the weekly meeting.
Article 8. Attendance Attendance of all RLAB meetings is required for all members. If a person is unable to attend, he/she must contact the chairperson.
Article 9. Dismissal Any member of the residence Life Advisory Board may be dismissed for consistent acts of misconduct, neglect of duties, failure to maintain the proper GPA, failure to attend weekly meetings and events or violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
