Managed Antivirus Service

Neumann College ITR has implemented a server-based antivirus updating procedure for computers on campus that we encourage all faculty and staff to participate in. After completing a few simple installation steps your machine will be updated with the newest Norton Antivirus engines and definitions. What this means to you is that you will no longer have to worry about running your Live Update, or performing virus scans. (Virus scans are performed invisibly in the background while you work.)

The updates will occur faster than updates over the Internet

Installation

You can perform the installation on your own by following these steps:
Using Internet Explorer, browse to: http://neumann-av/webinstall/ ( link not available off campus)

Click "Install Now", & follow instructions and select all the default options.

Neumann computers that are subscribed to our managed antivirus service will show a padlock next to the Live Update button, and the button will be grayed out. This is OK. The virus definition file date should show a recent date. If your computer is effectively connected to the network and the file date is old, please call the Help Desk.
