For Whitley Kels, a junior business administration major from Philadelphia, it’s all about giving back. And, she sees Neumann University as the perfect place to start.
“I just want to give back. I’ve been blessed my whole life and I’d like to give back to those not as fortunate. In my future, I can see myself running an organization to help the homeless,” she said.
Through service projects offered to Neumann students, Kels has been able to experience the plight of those in need.
“Neumann has many service projects that you can get involved with. I went to a church and helped feed the homeless. The people were so nice and kept thanking me for being there,” Kels recalled.
While she is involved in many of Neumann’s volunteer opportunities, Kels is also a member of the women’s track team.
“The people here at Neumann make the school, and being an athlete makes it more fun. The members of the track team are really close and we can joke around with each other,” she said.
In addition to being on the track team, Kels has gotten involved with other student groups at Neumann.
“Neumann had given me the opportunity to become a leader. I am a Presidential Ambassador and an Orientation Leader. I’ve learned how to be well rounded and others now look up to me.”
