Students Support Scholarships on Lobby Day

Lobby Day

Students and other representatives from Neumann University met with State Senator Dominic Pileggi of Pennsylvania’s 9th District in Harrisburg on Student Lobby Day, April 1. Students spoke with the Senate Majority Leader about the importance of independent colleges and universities, and the Ready to Succeed scholarship program.

Governor Tom Corbett has proposed this $25 million merit-based scholarship initiative for Pennsylvania’s 2014-15 budget. The program would provide up to $2,000 scholarships to students from families who earn up to $110,000 to help pay for their two- or four-year college degree.

With Senator Pileggi are Rich Tutak, class of 2015; Sarah Cazella, director of student activities; Taylor Baston, class of 2016; and Eric Dowrick, class of 2015.
