Presidential Ambassador Program

Position Description


Department:  Office of the President
Volunteer Title: Presidential Ambassador
Duration:    One to three academic school years depending on qualifications



Neumann University ambassadors are students who are invited to represent the University in a variety of venues and events usually hosted by the President. The Ambassadors demonstrate a successful student academically and in relationship to Neumann University values; respect, integrity, service to others, excellence and stewardship. Neumann University Presidential Ambassadors are model University students who strive to encourage, among their colleagues, the value of a lifelong relationship with the University and the importance of nurturing relationships with others, for themselves, and for the University.


Ambassadors are called upon regularly to:

  • Assist with University events such as Move-In day, Mass of the Holy Spirit, Homecoming, Charter Day, Greccio-Live Nativity, Senior Class Fund Program, Photo Shoots, meetings of the University Board of Trustees, functions hosted by the President, etc.  

  • Promote Neumann University at all times to potential students, parents, and community leaders

  • Network and interact with Neumann University’s actual and potential donors and benefactors.


Criteria for Acceptance:

Proven student leaders are nominated by University Leadership,  such as Academic Deans, at the end of each school year.


  • Be a full-time undergraduate student at the freshman level

  • Completed at least 18 credits at Neumann University

  • Earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above

  • Have no disciplinary sanctions

  • Possess excellent communication skills

  • Submit a completed application with all information and two (2) references to Connie Gallagher, Executive Assistant to the President, by the date designated by the Office of the President.

Continuance Criteria:

All ambassadors in good standing must reapply to re-affirm their commitment to the program. (References not necessary) 

  • Attendance at a minimum of three ambassador events per year

  • Earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above

  • Have no disciplinary sanctions

  • Effective communication and leadership abilities

  • Compliance with uniform and name badge requirements at events

  • Participation in Annual Fund event by volunteering one night at the annual phone-a-thon or alternative program as identified by the Director of Alumni and Special Programs, Judi Stanaitis
