ALUMNI & AWARDS

Neumann alumni are making their way in the world. They are the business leaders, educators, and transformers of the world. Their actions reflect what it truly means to have received a Catholic education in the Franciscan tradition. To celebrate their accomplishments, the alumni association celebrates the Alumni Awards during Charter/Sponsorship Day.

All are welcome to participate in the awards process by sharing the achievements of fellow alumni through nomination. The 2021 Alumni Awards will be presented during Charter Day on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Nominations for any award may be submitted throughout the year and will be held for future consideration. If you have any questions, please contact alumni@Neumann.edu.

Nominations for the 2021 Awards will be accepted until January 5, 2021. The award recipients will be announced on January 30th. Make a nomination today.

Alumni Association John Neumann Award

This award is given to any living alumni member, who is a graduate of Neumann University and who has been distinguished in such a way as to bring honor to the individual, the University and/or the Neumann University Alumni Association. The NU Alumni Association, through its Executive Committee having created the John Neumann Alumni Award for alumnus/a whom through his or her professional development, service to Neumann University and community service, have exemplified the values of the University

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to a living alumnus of Neumann University who has been distinguished in such a way to bring honor to the individual for their professional achievements, contributions to society, to the University and/or the NU Alumni Association.

Alumni Association Volunteer of the Year Award

This award is given to any living alumni member, who is a graduate of Neumann University and who has been distinguished in such a way as to bring honor to the individual, the University and/or the Neumann University Alumni Association. The NU Alumni Association, through its Executive Committee having created the Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award for an outstanding alumnus/a who demonstrates a personal commitment to Neumann University through volunteer service, and has exemplified the values of the University.

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to a living alumnus of Neumann University who has been distinguished in such a way to bring honor to the individual for their professional achievements, contributions to society, to the University and/or the NU Alumni Association.

Alumni Association Recognition Award

This award is given to any living alumni member, who is a graduate of Neumann University and who has been distinguished in such a way as to bring honor to the individual, the University and/or the Neumann University Alumni Association.The NU Alumni Association, through its Executive Committee having created the Alumni Recognition Award for an outstanding alumnus/a whom has shown dedicated and devoted service to Neumann University, and has exemplified the values of the University.

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to a living alumnus of Neumann University who has been distinguished in such a way to bring honor to the individual for their professional achievements, contributions to society, to the University and/or the NU Alumni Association.

President's Distinguished Alumni Award

Awarded by the President of Neumann University to an outstanding alumnus/a who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership, dedication and a commitment to Neumann University.

Alumni Association Young Alumni Achievement Award

This award is given to a living alumni member, who is a graduate of Neumann University, who is less than 40 years old by January 1st in the year the award is presented, and who are outstanding in their in their profession.The NU Alumni Association, through its Executive Committee having created the Young Alumni Achievement Award for alumnus/a in recognition of outstanding achievement in their profession while upholding the mission and values of Neumann University.

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to a living alumnus of Neumann University who is less than 40 years old by January 1st in the year the award is presented, and who has had outstanding achievement in their profession.

Alumni Association Honorary Alumni Award

This award is presented by the Neumann University Alumni Association to individuals (non alumnus) who have performed continuous exemplary service to the University or made significant contributions of time, talent or wealth to the University. The NU Alumni Association, through its Executive Committee having created the Honorary Alumni Award for non- alumnus/a past, present, and potential impact on Neumann University community qualifies them for alumni status.

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to individuals (non alumnus) who have performed continuous exemplary service to the University, or who have been distinguished in such a way to bring honor to the University.

Spirit of Francis and Clare of Assisi Award

The Spirit of Francis and Clare of Assisi Award recognizes a graduate whose demonstrated commitment to the Catholic Franciscan tradition and values has led him/her to develop an initiative that makes a significant impact in one or more of the following areas:

  • Support of persons who are poor or underserved
  • Advancement of understanding and support for the environment
  • Promotion of peacemaking
  • Development of intercultural understanding

Standards and Eligibility

The award may be given to a living alumnus of Neumann University who have shown:

  • Evidence of personal and professional commitment to extending the Catholic Franciscan tradition and values
  • Development of an initiative that significantly impacts and improves
    • The lives of persons who are poor or underserved
    • The environment
    • Peacemaking
    • Intercultural understanding
    • Demonstrated impact on targeted audience: intellectually, socially, emotionally, and/or spiritually
    • Demonstrated impact on society

Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Senior

Awarded to recognize an outstanding senior student. The recipient of this award has maintained a good GPA, performed community service, shown excellent leadership skills, and has given evidence of a search for truth and respect for all of creation.

Alumni Awards by School

This award is presented to a graduate whose career is characterized by continuous and exemplary contributions to society through research, practice, education, or service. The recipient must be an individual who brings enduring honor to Neumann University and to the community and exemplifies the core values of the University.
