Office of Academic Affairs

Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs at Neumann College, where we are transforming the world one mind, and one heart, at a time. According to The Mirror of Perfection, a collection of aphorisms attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi, we know “only as much as we can put to work.” This approach to learning is characteristically Franciscan. Knowledge is not an end in itself, but rather a means to an end. In a Franciscan setting like Neumann College, knowledge leads to a deepening capacity for self-reflection and a genuine commitment to service.

As a Catholic institution of higher education in the Franciscan tradition, Neumann’s mission is a distinctive one. We are deeply committed to a vision of the world in which our students leave us with certain habits of the mind and heart, among them: a capacity for attention shaped by thought as much as prayer; a rich interior life; humility; discernment; forgiveness; reverence for God, persons and the created world; self-sacrifice; and rigorous moral reasoning. At Neumann College we embrace these distinctive features of the Franciscan tradition as gifts to be shared, and we see our community as one that supports and embraces transformational and practice-oriented learning as a goal for all of our students - undergraduate and graduate, traditional and non-traditional.

We offer a wide array of excellent graduate and undergraduate degrees within the Arts and Sciences, as well as highly regarded degree programs within our integrated professional divisions: Education and Human Services, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Business and Information Systems. Neumann was among the very first colleges in the Delaware Valley to offer adult accelerated degree programs through our CAPS Division (Continuing Adult and Professional Studies), which has graduated hundreds of successful adult learners since 1974. We invite you to explore Neumann College, and to consider becoming a part of our community of learners.

Peace and all good,
