As a Catholic University in the Franciscan tradition, we commit ourselves
to peace and justice. At this critical time in our world, we pray for
peace and for all persons whose lives are touched in any way by war.
Such world events impact each and every one of us, no matter our role
or our responsibility. While we have no reason to believe that a threat
exists for Neumann University or Delaware County, we have put in place
several plans: an emergency response plan, a crisis communication plan,
and a plan for us to gather as a community to reflect and to pray together.
These plans are spelled out here on our web site, and we ask you to
peruse them, using the links provided on the left-hand side of this
page. Neumann's emergency response and crisis communication plans provide
a map for us in the event a problem arises. Both place the safety and
welfare of the University community as top priorities. Our plan for contemplation
and prayer provide sustenance for our hearts and spirits, and the opportunities
to pray for others who might not be able to do so at this time.
Please share this information with one another, your friends and your
families. Keep track of any changes on campus by visiting our home page,
and encourage your families to do the same. If you can, join me every
chance you get in saying and sharing the beautiful prayer of St. Francis
of Assisi
Make me a channel of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow Your love;
Where there is injury, Your pardon, Lord;
Where there is doubt, true faith in You;
Where there is despair, let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, only light;
Where there is sadness, ever joy.
God bless you and give you peace,
Rosalie M. Mirenda, President
