Who Can Contract?

Contracted Cadets: Contracting is a privilege, not a right. A Cadet must show potential to become an officer and meet or exceed contracting requirements. The following chart shows the earliest a Cadet can contract, based on his/her status:

Age Will be under the age of 31 as of the last day of the year of commissioning; by law - no waivers. Will be under the age of 35 as of the last day of the year of commissioning. Brigade Commander can waive up to age 39.
Prior Service Honorably discharged with an RE code permitting reenlistment on the DD 214. Honorably discharged with an RE code permitting reenlistment on the DD 214; must have less than 10 years of active federal service unless waived.

Law/Civil Conviction No convictions, fines, imprisonment, probation, parole or pardon, except for minor traffic violations less than $250. Must be

Education Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum 2.5 Cum GPA; 4-yr scholarship candidates must have a minimum 920 on the SAT (CR + Math) or 19 Composite on the ACT; enrolled as a fulltime student. CC Form 104-R required. Must be a fulltime college student with a minimum 2.0 Cum GPA. Academic standing verified by CC Form 104-R and transcript.
Medical Must be medically qualified by DoDMERB or have a waiver from USACC Surgeon within two years of contracting. Veterans may not be drawing disability compensation. Contracting Cadets enter into an agreement with the Department of Defense (DD Form 4). Cadets enlist into the US Army Reserve (ROTC Control Group) at the grade ofCadet.
