Contracted Cadets: Contracting is a privilege, not a right. A Cadet must show potential to become an officer and meet or exceed contracting requirements. The following chart shows the earliest a Cadet can contract, based on his/her status:

Eligibility is determined in accordance with Cadet Command Pamphlet 145-4 and CC Form 139-R, explained in the chart below:

Contracting Cadets enter into an agreement with the Department of Defense (DD Form 4). Cadets enlist into the US Army Reserve (ROTC Control Group) at the grade ofCadet.
