Job Title: Assistant Professor – Theology


JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

The Neumann University School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education invites applications for a full-time theology faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank to begin in August 2026. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The position is in our undergraduate Theology Program, which is rooted in the Franciscan Intellectual Tradition.
  • This position requires teaching at the undergraduate level in traditional and online modalities, an active research agenda, and service to the University community.
  • Teaching responsibilities will be four courses per semester at the undergraduate level.
  • Successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to the University’s mission as a Catholic Franciscan institution that emphasizes the dignity of all.

Faculty Protocol:

  • Candidates should be aware that Neumann University does not have a system of tenure but instead offers faculty a policy-governed system of promotion and increasingly extended contracts with faculty seniority.

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in theology, religious studies, or a related field.
  • A record of successful teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Training in and commitment to the Roman Catholic theological tradition, preferably with a background in the Franciscan Intellectual Tradition.

Job Title: Child Development Center – Co-Teacher – Full-Time

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of a developmentally appropriate and diverse curriculum that supports the overall development of preschool aged children (3-5 years of age).
  • The Child Development Center (CDC) is a state-licensed child-care facility and enrolls children of Neumann University students, faculty, administration, staff, and from the surrounding community.
  • This position is Full-Time, Monday through Friday, with hours between 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., September through June annually, with the possibility of working the summer programming.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required unless the candidate has an Associate’s degree, or higher, in Early Childhood Education or at least 30 college credits in education.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the nighttime circulation specialist in monitoring the library space
  • Educating library patrons on library policies and procedures
