The Writing Center at Neumann University is a friendly and welcoming environment for our diverse population of student scholars. We are a student-centered place of growth and, through conversation and mutual collaboration, we aim to help students develop their writing process and improve their writing skills over time.
All writers, new, developing, and established, can visit us to brainstorm, plan, draft, and revise their writing, or to simply talk through assignments, ideas, and feedback. During each session, our trained undergraduate and professional writing tutors serve as active and engaged readers, offering thoughtful responses and guidance to questions and concerns. We can address anything from formatting to organization and development, sentence-level errors, and more. If you are interested in proofreading and editing, we can show you strategies to find, address, and avoid common mistakes in the future.
Our goal is to build a community of confident, knowledgeable, and responsible writers.
We offer three different types of appointments:
- In-person - Students meet with a tutor on campus in the Center.
- eTutoring – Students upload their paper to their scheduled appointment, the writing tutor will review it, provide feedback, and re-upload the reviewed copy to the appointment at the close of the session. There is no need for the student to be present.
- Online – Students work remotely with a tutor on a shared screen. They can choose to communicate via video, microphone, or chat box to discuss their work.
If you have questions regarding the schedule or how to sign up for an appointment, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
