Graduates are practitioners prepared to carry out diverse responsibilities in roles with flexible boundaries. They have an in-depth knowledge of the sciences and skills necessary for effective patient/client management. They are able to identify and use sound, research-based evidence for effective patient care, and they can function well in a clinical team atmosphere. Finally, they view learning as a lifelong process and believe in the inherent dignity of human beings, regardless of the differences in individuals.

These prerequisite courses must be completed at a regionally accredited college or university. Stronger applicants traditionally hold a minimum of 3.3 GPA in the science prerequisite courses and a minimum of 3.0 in the non-science courses

Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores no more than five years old (University code 2628). Competitive scores for the 2019 cohort were 150, 150, 4.5. GRE cannot be waived

All applicants must submit the following: 

  1. A completed Graduate Student Application, online through www.neumann.edu
  2. Official transcripts from all regionally accredited institution attended. WES or ECE evaluated if international schools
  3. Résumé
  4. Letter of intent detailing educational and career goals
  5. Three official letters of recommendation, including letters from two (2) physical therapists.  To be considered official, all letters must be submitted directly from the recommender him/herself.  Electronic mail format is acceptable for letters of recommendation
  6. A minimum of 50 hours of officially documented experience with a physical therapist, ideally in a variety of practice settings. These hours must be verified by the supervising PT and must state exactly how many hours have been earned. This can appear via a letter on letterhead, a timesheet, or an old paystub
  7. Official Graduate Record Exam scores no more than five years old (University code 2628)

  9. TOEFL: The Physical Therapy program requires a minimum overall score of 89, with a minimum score of 26 on the verbal subtest on the Internet-based TOEFL or its equivalent on either the computer-based or paper and pencil test. This test is required for students from a non-English speaking country or for whom English is a second language

Please NOTE this is a highly competitive program which starts reviewing applications in November and only has seats for 35 students.  All prerequisites must be completed by June (a month after starting the program) of the year starting the program. Please submit your application ASAP
