BS PUBLIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 60 credits is required for acceptance to the BS PSA program, and a maximum of 90 credits can be transferred in (from college, military, and DPL – Documented Prior Learning)

  2. Official College Transcript(s)
    • From each regionally accredited, degree granting institution attended (WES or ECE evaluated if an international school)
    • Request all official transcripts, including JST and high school transcripts (if you have an Associate’s Degree, no high school transcript is required). Have them sent directly from the school to neumann@neumann.edu or Neumann University Admissions, 1 Neumann Drive, Aston, PA 19014.
  3. DPL: Documented Prior Learning
    • Public Safety Professional Training can be evaluated for college credit. Please provide the following documentation in order to receive a credit evaluation:

Law Enforcement documentation

  • Police academy transcript with specified classroom hours and graduation date
  • Police continuing education transcript with dates, hours, course topics (in Pennsylvania, the MPOETC transcripts)
  • Any other certificate of training MUST be accompanied by the official agency course description matching the date on the certificate. Documented classroom hours must be present on the certificate or the official course description.

EMS documentation

  • EMS training academy transcript with specified classroom hours (not clinical or lab)
    • o If the training academy transcript is not available, we will accept a State or County verified letter stating the classroom hours (not clinical or lab), graduation date, and that the program met the National Standards of that time.
  • Continuing education transcript
  • Any other certificate of training MUST be accompanied by the official agency course description matching the date on the certificate. Documented classroom hours must be present on the certificate or the official course description.

Fire Services documentation

  • Fire academy transcript with specified classroom hours and graduation date
  • FEMA transcript if applicable
  • NFA transcript if applicable
  • Any other certificate of training MUST be accompanied by the official agency course description matching the date on the certificate. Documented classroom hours must be present on the certificate or the official course description.

Suggested deadline for application & materials:
3-4 weeks prior to start of semester, in order to be reviewed in time.
