Social and Ethical Responsibility — Using decision-making strategies, this course guides students through the basic and most important parts of analysis, leading directly to a decision in the face of ethical conflict. Through timely case studies and detailed analyses, students are exposed to strategies and systems that lead to the implementation of solutions. The course further allows students to develop a working knowledge of ethical principles and reasoning in day-to-day decision-making, and thus apply strategies to personal ethical issues.

Creativity and Innovation — Interdisciplinary in nature, this course focuses on the development of personal creativity and organizational innovation. Like creativity itself, this course is more about experiences and experiments than tools and methods. The social context for innovation and creativity are also examined. In addition, the course emphasizes social relationships and networks surrounding creative work; the diffusion of innovation; new technologies; changing institutions; and public policy. Students are engaged in an experience of collective innovation and apply that innovation to the work setting.

Professional Case Study — Qualified students who seek individualized advanced study in a work- or special interest- related area, in addition to their scheduled courses, may opt to develop a professional case study. Students assume responsibility for special readings and research under the supervision of a designated faculty member. Any particular prerequisites are determined by the Division Dean. Regular meetings with faculty, including online activity, and completion of all assignments are required.

Completion time varies depending on the number of credits a student transfers into the program and the number of courses taken each term. Neumann allows students to transfer up to 90 credits, and the organizational studies and business major itself includes 30 credits of required coursework.

Neumann's online business degree in organizational studies is specifically designed for adult learners and working professionals and is delivered fully online in accelerated 7½-week seminars. The program also allows students to begin at the start of any semester.

Adult learners, 19 years of age or older, with previous writing experience (equivalency of English Composition I and II) and who have completed at least one year of college work (30 credit hours or the equivalent) are eligible to apply to the online business degree in organizational studies.

Students should have completed a minimum of 30 transfer credits, including English Composition I and English Composition II or their equivalents, before registering for any organizational studies course. Students entering with a minimum of 30 credits must complete the 30-credit organizational studies major course sequence, along with electives, enrichment courses, or course equivalencies such as assessed prior learning for a total of 60 additional credits, as determined in consultation with their advisor.

Students may transfer up to 90 credits toward Neumann's online degree in business and organizational studies. Students who have earned a minimum of 90 credits prior to enrollment must complete the 30-credit major core sequence and, in some cases, additional coursework as determined in consultation with their advisor.
