CHALLENGEAbout the N.I.T.E. Center
Neumann University, in collaboration with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and the Aston Police Department, has established a state-of-the-art digital forensics lab on campus with the support of a $258,259 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area federal grant. This lab is the first of its kind in the region and among the few nationwide to be located on a university campus through a partnership with law enforcement.
The NITE Center provides Delaware County law enforcement officers with a high-tech facility to:
- Conduct forensic investigations of electronic devices suspected of being used in criminal activities.
- Analyze video surveillance footage from crime scenes.
- Monitor live video feeds to support real-time crime investigations.
The lab is equipped with advanced technology, including a $15,000 custom-built Sumuri computer designed for forensic analysis, a Faraday box to isolate and protect seized electronic devices, license plate reader software, and three large monitors for viewing video feeds.
