CHALLENGENeumann University has received a historic $5 million gift—the largest individual gift in the University’s history—to support nursing scholarships and academic excellence. This transformational investment, from William and Jacquelyn Fegley, strengthens Neumann’s long-standing commitment to student success, access, and preparation for meaningful careers in healthcare.
In recognition of this extraordinary generosity, Neumann’s undergraduate and graduate nursing programs are now named the Jacquelyn Wilson Fegley ’71 College of Nursing. A proud alumna and former Sister of St. Francis, Jacquelyn Fegley embodies Neumann’s Franciscan mission of service, compassion, and lifelong learning.
Neumann University will begin awarding the Fegley scholarships in the fall of 2026. Criteria include academic achievement and financial need, and the awards will follow the students throughout their time in the nursing program. Fifteen new students each year will benefit, receiving $6,000 annually ($24,000 over four years).
Students who complete the FAFSA will automatically be considered for the scholarship.
