Emmanuel Ministry exists to serve marginalized populations in Center City – particularly individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. At Emmanuel we build connections with our guests through food and relationships.
We cook and serve a free, hot lunch every Saturday morning to approximately 50-80 guests. Volunteers help prepare food in the kitchen under the lead chef, plate and serve the meal, and clean up. No previous cooking experience necessary! We also just opened a small food pantry onsite, which operates at the same time as the meal. A few volunteers are needed during the second shift every Saturday to help guests check in & out and shop the pantry as well!
The kitchen is located on the second floor of Resurrection Church at 123 S. 17th St, and we validate parking at Liberty Place Parkway garage about a block away.
