Welcome to the Academic Resource Center
The John C. Ford Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers a variety of free services to all Neumann students. The ARC is comprised of a dedicated staff of professional tutors, academic coaches, instructors, and trained peer tutors. Our goal is to facilitate student success, to educate the whole student, and to develop the skills that students will use in their lives after graduation.
The ARC staff enacts the Franciscan Mission and Core Values: RISES in our work with students.
Services are offered in-person and online: To meet with a tutor in person, schedule an appointment by using our TUTOR TRAC system.
Subjects include: All core courses, English, Math, Psychology, Sciences, Theology, History, Foreign Language courses, and Criminal Justice.
Online tutoring: Online tutoring is available 24/7 via our online tutoring program SMARTHINKING.
Subjects include: Writing, Math, Psychology, Chemistry, and English.
Our professional writing tutors work with students to strengthen their existing skills and to raise their skill levels in writing. Our tutors help students with all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming topic ideas to editing final drafts. Our writing tutors assist students with writing papers in all subject areas, not just English. Click below to schedule an appointment with one of our writing tutors.

Neumann University’s TRiO Student Support Services (SSS)
Are you on academic probation? Do you feel that you are losing control over your school work? Do you need help with managing the academic demands of college? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, Program for Success can help you gain control over your studies.
Meeting regularly with an academic coach could help students to gain control of their academics and improve their GPAs. Just as athletes improve their performance on the court, field, or pool by working with their coach, the same concept applies to students with regards to their academic performance. Our academic coaches meet individually with students to provide an assessment of their current study skills and develop strategies to achieve academic success.
Our academic coaching services are available to:
- Students with Learning Differences
- Students on Academic Probation
- Faculty Referrals
