  • Serving as a resource center for our adjunct faculty.
  • Providing professional development resources and opportunities for all faculty.
  • Maintaining and distributing a monthly faculty newsletter or blog post on issues related to teaching and learning.
  • Providing one-on-one faculty coaching and mentoring, as well as classroom observations, upon request.
  • Collaborating with the Faculty Senate Faculty Development Committee to plan and organize the annual Teaching and Learning Symposium.
  • Personalized workshops relating to best practices in teaching upon request.

Building Community and Social Presence in a Virtual Environment - During this recorded webinar, we discuss tools to help connect with your students and build social presence in a virtual environment. We demonstrate and discuss ways to create social presence by checking in on students’ socioemotional wellness, making them feel like they belong and providing opportunities for learners to interact with each other.

Course Design and Student Engagement in Synchronous Sessions: During this webinar, we discussed the many ways that synchronous sessions (either group sessions or individual sessions) can help support our virtual learners and how to plan these so that they support virtual learners and do not add stress to their already busy schedules. We discussed tools we would use to make these sessions as active and engaging as possible.
