




The Residence Life team at Neumann University consists of the Director, Housing Operations Coordinator, Graduate Hall Directors, Resident Assistants, and Desk Assistants. The Chaplin for Residence Life, a Mission and Ministry staff member, works alongside the Residence Life team to foster spiritual development in the residence halls.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, the Residence Life staff is part of the Student Affairs on-call team, which has a 24/7 duty rotation.
The Graduate Assistant for Housing Operations and Graduate Hall Directors are 10-month employees (August-May). Please direct any questions during June & July to reslife@neumann.edu and another team member will respond.

Mr. Chadwick “Chad” Johnson serves as the Assistant Dean of Students for the Residence Life and Community Standards team at Neumann University. In this role, Chad provides strategic leadership for on-campus housing, residential education, and the university’s community standards efforts—all with a strong commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive living-learning environment for students.
With over nine years of experience in student support, conduct, case management, and residential life, Chad brings a deep understanding of student development and holistic care. A proud double alumnus of Neumann University, he earned both his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and his master’s in Business and Organizational Leadership, grounding his work in both empathy and effective leadership.

Ms. Gianna Machado serves as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Neumann University, where she plays a strong role in supporting the housing and residential education programming for a 750-bed undergraduate residential program. With over five years of professional experience in residential education and wellness promotion, Gianna has led initiatives in special interest and living-learning communities, resident assistant and peer education leadership development, and wellness coaching. She brings extensive experience in designing and implementing programs that foster student engagement, personal development, and community connection. Gianna holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Policy and Student Affairs from West Chester University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montclair State University.

Mr. Justin Gallashaw serves as the Assistant Director of Community Standards at Neumann University, where he plays a key role in student conduct administration and education on community expectations. As a member of the Residence Life & Community Standards team, Justin participates in the senior student affairs on-call rotation and represents the department on divisional and institutional committees. A proud double alumnus of Neumann University, Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
