A learning community is a unique residential experience where students with a shared social or academic interest live together, engage in specialized programming connected to their interests, and collaboratively support each other's success. Neumann University offers a variety of learning communities each year for first-year and returning students connected to the University's RISES values. By living in a learning community, students can immerse themselves in a residential experience that promotes deeper connections with their fellow Knights, enhances their residential experience, and provides opportunities for leadership development and experiential education beyond the classroom.
Students who apply and are selected to live in a Neumann University learning community can expect personalized support from dedicated faculty and staff members who are committed to their academic and personal success. In addition, students receive guidance and mentorship from their learning community mentor that is tailored to their goals and interests. Exclusive programs, including off-campus excursions, provide enriching experiences beyond the classroom, fostering connections with peers with similar interests or academic programs and creating a vibrant and supportive community.
The following options are learning communities offered in the residence halls for the 2024-2025 academic year. Additional information for each community, including contact information and the community's housing location, is listed below each description.
First-year students can immerse themselves in the heart of advocacy and Franciscan values at our university's Franciscan Justice Circle Living Learning Community (FJC LLC).
