STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION

The purpose of SGA is to:

• Support and enhance the mission and values of Neumann University;
• Serve as the voice of the undergraduate student body;
• Advocate and serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration at Neumann University in order to enrich the quality of student life;
• Uphold the SGA Constitution and follow the procedures set forth within it;
• Support the social, cultural, spiritual, and educational activities of Neumann University;
• Keep students informed on what is happening on campus.

The Executive Cabinet presides over the general assembly. Each member of the Executive Cabinet serves as a chair to a council within SGA.  Executive Cabinet positions are:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Chief Justice
• Director of Marketing & Media

The Legislative Leadership Team serves as the voice of SGA members, relaying any problems, questions, and/or concerns students may have to the Executive Cabinet. Legislative Leadership serves with the Executive Cabinet to accomplish committee goals. Members of the Legislative Leadership Team are:

• Senator for Leadership & Service
• Senator for Athletics & Recreation
• Senator for Commuter Students
• Senator for Residential Students
• Senator for Student Organizations
• Senator for Health & Well-Being
• Senator for Neumann Facilities
• Senator for Sustainability
• Senator for the School of Business
• Senator for the School of Nursing & Health Sciences
• Senator for the School of Social Science, Humanities, & Education
• Senator for Mission & Ministry

The General Assembly of SGA are representatives from each SGA funded club and organization, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Club Sports & Advisory Counci, and an at-large member from each academic school of the University to be appointed by the academic deans.

All SGA Executive Cabinet and Legislative Leadership members must meet the following qualifications at the time of elections and through the duration of their roles:

• Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing
• Must have at least a 2.5 gpa
• Must be a full-time undergraduate student

In addition to these qualifications, individuals must meet all deadlines established to participate in elections.
