Neumann University has outlined the multi-step process which you may review at NEUMANN UNIVERSITY CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION UPDATE: CREDITS AND REFUNDS FOR RESIDENT STUDENTS

The amount of your credit will be determined by the University multi-step process and will vary, based on the housing and meal plan you selected, whether you received a housing grant and based on your continuation at Neumann University. All credits and refunds will be a pro-rated amount of 50% calculated from March 15, 2020 through the end of the spring semester.

Your credit will be applied based on several factors: your year in school, the amount of your housing grant (which will be considered first) and the outstanding balance on your account.

  • Continuing students residing on campus will have the prorated credit applied to their current student account balance and any remaining credit will be applied to their fall 2020 room and board.
  • Spring 2020 graduating seniors residing on campus will have the prorated credit applied to their account balance, which may result in a refund.

Students who lived on campus in the spring of 2020 and will not live on campus fall 2020 will have the prorated credit applied to their account balance, which may result in a refund.

The Governor of Pennsylvania has extended the stay-at-home order until May 8, 2020 to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The Housing & Residence Life office has begun finalizing plans for launching our move-out process, which will run for a 2-week window from May 9-23. We will be permitting a maximum of 10 students to sign-up for each time slot, which will help us control for the health and safety of students and our staff while in the halls. This new process, along with the sign-up calendar tool and specific move-out instructions, will be communicated to students the week of April 27. We are taking great care and attention to ensure an organized, efficient, and safe move-out from the residence halls. We understand that it may be frustrating to not have access to your personal belongings left on campus at this time, but we thank you in advance for your patience while we do our part as a campus community to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Credits will be applied according to the multi-step process beginning April 30, 2020 no later than the end of the Spring Semester. All refunds will be disbursed as soon as possible thereafter.

Our faculty continue to deliver their classes in a virtual format through our LMK Blackboard Collaborate, student academic support and tutoring continues, and our students continue to make progress towards their degrees or certificates. Accordingly, there will be no credit or refund for Spring Semester tuition.

We understand that these are difficult times and many are under financial pressures. Certainly, we would recommend that students continue to pay their obligations (including installment payments) to the extent possible. Rest assured that we will be flexible and reasonable with regard to late fees and collections of account balances through this difficult time.
