Resident Assistant
Recruitment for new Resident Assistants begins each year in the fall semester. We seek a diverse pool of undergraduate students to be a part of our team! The RA position is a rewarding and challenging leadership position that will and connect you with lifelong friends and memorable experiences.
Resident Assistants
RAs create a sense of community within the residence halls. They organize and facilitate community-building activities, such as community dinners, game nights, and educational workshops featuring various campus partners. These events encourage social interaction, promote inclusivity, and help residents develop meaningful connections with their peers. RAs play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the residential community. They serve on a nightly duty rotation in one of three areas on campus as part of the Student Affairs emergency response team and also assist with campus policy enforcement, health and safety inspections, assist with lockouts, and document maintenance and facility concerns for follow-up. Hiring for the RAs position occurs early in the spring semester each year. Students must have completed at least 30 credits and have a 2.5 GPA to be eligible for the position.
Recruitment & Selection of New Community Assistants
If you are interested in applying to be a Resident Assistant for Spring 2026, you must attend an information session and submit your application by Friday, November 17.
If you are interested in applying to be a Resident Assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year, you must attend any one of the information sessions listed below.

Desk Assistant
DAs are hourly student employees who assist with front desk operations in the residence halls on campus. DAs assist with guest registration, answering student questions, and enforcing community standards. One of the primary responsibilities of DAs is to provide customer services and assist residents with their concerns such as submitting work orders, connecting them with the RA on Duty, and answering questions. Hiring for DAs occurs at the end of spring semester and during the summer. New students can be hired as DAs and must maintain a 2.5 GPA during employment.
Please note that all candidates are subject to the following:
- An academic screening to ensure that their semester and cumulative GPA is a 2.5 or above
- Resident Assistants must be enrolled full-time (12+ credits) at Neumann University
- Resident Assistants must have completed at least 30-credits
- Resident Assistants must be eligible to be employed in the role for the full academic year (i.e. not graduating in December or participating in a semester-long study abroad program)
- Resident Assistants must remain in good disciplinary standing with Neumann University
- Good disciplinary standing means the students does not have any overdue sanctions, is not currently on disciplinary probation, does not have any pending student conduct cases, and does not have a significant disciplinary history with multiple responsible findings especially as it relates to alcohol and drug policies.
- If you have any special housing accommodation needs related to a disability or other condition, those need to be submitted to The Accessibility Services Center, by Friday, January 30, to be taken into consideration for placement during this process.
