General InforMATION

Residents are responsible for cleaning their room, including bathrooms within them. Residential students are responsible for removing all trash from their rooms and taking it to the dumpsters located outside each building in a timely manner. When a student moves out of the residence hall, they are expected to clean the room so that it mirrors their experience at the time they moved into the space. Spaces left unclean may result in damage charges for students.

Common area spaces such as lounges, kitchens, and common bathrooms are cleaned by the University. In the event of excessive dirtiness, residents of the community may be charged for cleaning of the space.

If you and your roommate(s) are having a conflict, please contact your resident assistant(s) (RA) as soon as possible to assist with facilitating a roommate mediation.  Part of the mediation will be to reexamine the Roommate Agreement that you and your roommates created at the start of the year. After a mediation takes place, students are expected to wait at least 7 days before seeking out a second mediation or room change. Please note that room changes may be limited based on the occupancy of the residence halls.

Student IDs and room keys are distributed by Campus Safety. If you lose either, please go to the Campus Safety office, located in 32 BMB, immediately so that you may obtain a new one. If you lose your ID it is also suggested that you notify the Business Office so the card may be cancelled and any money on the card cannot be used around campus. Fees for key and ID replacement are available on the University's tuition and fees website.

Students who submitted a housing application and/or received a housing assignment and have decided to commute or live off-campus should submit the Housing Release Request form located on the eRezLife portal. Please note that releases will only be approved based on the conditions listed in the Housing Agreement signed during the application process. In addition, there may be a housing cancellation fee associated with approved housing releases.
