FAQs

Q. What is the FAFSA? When does it need to be completed? Can I apply online?
A. The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
This government form helps to determine a family's financial need, and can identify how much a student may need in loans, grants, and work study. It should be completed immediately after January 1st, for the following fall term.  Specific deadlines are April 15th for Delaware residents and May 1st for Pennsylvania residents. It can be completed on line at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

Q. Where can my son/daughter apply for scholarships?
A. Neumann University offers more than 30 scholarship programs, designed to help virtually every student from those with unique needs (such as single mothers) to those seeking specific majors (e.g., Nursing, Business). For more information, click HERE.

Q. Is my son/daughter eligible for work study?
A. Work study eligibility is based on need and determined as a result of the FAFSA. A work study grant is earned on the number of hours a student works for the college. The students receive a pay check to compensate them for the hours they work. It is not directly applied to the tuition.

Q. Where can I access my son/daughter’s grades?
A. WebAdvisor allows access to grades. You must, however, know your son/daughters ID and password to log in. Please go HERE.

Q. What is FERPA? How does it affect me as a parent?
A. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Affords students certain rights with respect to their education records, including the right to inspect their education records, request an amendment of the records that the student believes are inaccurate, and the right to control disclosures of their records except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. For more information, please visit the Registrar's web page. In order for us to release ANY information about your son or daughter, there must be a signed consent on file in our Registrar’s office. This can be done at any time by the student. The release forms are available in the Registrar’s office.
